Where It All Began
Brugge Chocolates was founded in 2010 by Susan Walukiewicz, whose journey with chocolate began as a teenager behind the counter of a small candy shop. That early experience sparked a lifelong passion that would eventually lead her back to her first love.
After a successful career at Microsoft, Susan decided to pursue her dream. She enrolled at the prestigious Barry Callebaut Chocolate Academy in Chicago, where she trained under master Belgian, French, and Canadian chocolatiers, studying European techniques and flavor philosophies that would become the foundation of Brugge.
Her vision was simple yet ambitious: to bring the elegance and artistry of European chocolate-making to Redmond, creating a shop defined by authenticity, craftsmanship, and joy.
